As a wedding photographer, I very often get asked which are best Leicestershire wedding venues.
It’s very hard to give an answer to this. As a photographer, I see wedding venues differently to couples looking for their perfect ‘big day’ location.
For me, every venue has its pros and cons; from their outdoor space and therefore, the photographic opportunities it provides, to indoor backdrops and lighting.
The staff at venues, also play a big part, some more helpful and accommodating than others.
For those tying the knot, there are other factors to consider, such as distance, menus and the all-important price tag.
Here are my own personal choices of best Leicestershire wedding venues and my reasons for choosing them. You could call them my top picks. Hopefully, they will provide you brides and grooms, with a good starting point in choosing your best Leicestershire wedding venue.
In no particular order:
Prestwold Hall is a stately home, situated in the picturesque district of Charnwood. This venue can only be described as classy. Its grand entrance hall really sets the tone for a fairy tale wedding.
Boasting beautiful grounds and gardens, the backdrops for wedding photography, are enviable.
The bridal suite and guest rooms are so divine, you won’t want to leave!
But credit must go to the staff at Prestwold Hall. They are consistently professional and are extremely attentive at all times. Preswold Hall is undoubtedly, a Best Leicestershire Wedding Venue.
Bridge House Barn
Bridge House Barn is a relatively new and different venue, located in the Leicestershire village of Kibworth Harcourt. Situated adjacent to the Grand Union Canal, this rural location boasts panoramic views and a waterfront setting; perfect for your wedding photo backdrops.
The three tipi tents, grounds and waterfront decking, really give you a relaxed and informal feel to your big day. If that’s not enough, Bridge House Barn are excited about their upcoming glamping pods. These will be available for guests to hire.
Bridge House Barn has certainly earnt its place on our Best Leicestershire Wedding Venues.
Staunton Harold Hall is another beautifully rural location, situated three miles north of Ashby-de-la-Zouch. The Staunton Harold Estate is a traditional country estate of some 2000 acres and is close to the Derbyshire border.
The historic Georgian mansion and lakeside views, mean your wedding photos will be nothing but idyllic. Weddings take place in the suite of fine state rooms, providing stunning photography cues. For brides and grooms wishing to have a romantic overnight stay, Deerpark Lodge is available to hire. Set in a woodland clearing in private parkland, it makes a wonderful end to a magical day. Book well in advance though; they only take ten wedding bookings per year, thus making it an exclusive choice on our Best Leicestershire Wedding Venues list.
Award winning Mythe Barn is a well-known, modern Leicestershire wedding venue. Situated near Atherstone, in the village of Sheepy Magna, Mythe Barn has both a rustic but contemporary feel to it. The garden gazebo and rustic barns, will make it hard for you to decide between an indoor and outdoor ceremony. Both are equally delightful.
The food is fantastic, having been prepared by Galloping Gourmet’s on site expert chefs; as is the honeymoon suite and the several guest bedrooms all with en-suite facilities.
Mythe Barn is one not to be missed and truly deserves its place on our Best Leicestershire Wedding Venues.
Hothorpe Hall and The Woodlands are located close to Market Harborough, in the village of Theddingworth. This is a great venue with lots of space and choice. If you like the idea of a grand manor house style venue, then Hothorpe Hall maybe for you. The Woodlands, however, is a venue in its own right and rightly so. Described as a woodland village, it boasts a very natural, earthy, rustic feel with log cabin accommodation for guests. Better still, the luxury ‘Treehouse’ wedding suite is phenomenal. It’s a must see!
There are several terraces for guests to relax, large dance floor, prosecco bar and self-serve beer on tap. What more could you want? Hothorpe Hall and The Woodlands is most definitely, a Best Leicestershire Wedding Venue.
Lastly, Quorn Grange Hotel is a location I have worked at many times. When the garden is in full bloom, it is truly stunning; perfect backdrops for your wedding photography are in abundance. The romantic gazebo is your main focus for an outdoor wedding and is situated within the eight acres of grounds. Likewise, The Oak Panelled Room and The Goodacre Suite make for a comfortable and relaxed wedding reception.
Within the hotel is a restaurant that offers fine dining cuisine, a bar and plenty of lovely accommodation for your guests. And let’s not forget the all-important bridal suite!
What really makes Quorn Grange Hotel stand out from the crowd, is the excellent level of care from their staff. They are always attentive to both guests and professionals and go that extra mile. The dedicated wedding coordinator and team really do their upmost to make your day as stress free as possible. With Quorn Grange Hotel, you are certainly in good hands.
Anyway, with that, I shall leave you to continue your search for the Best Leicestershire Wedding Venues. I wish you all the very best for your big day.
